The 12 Days of a Scout Christmas has become one of our favorite traditions on the Voice of Scouting, and we hope you will visit everyday, beginning Wednesday, Dec 14, to find inspiring Christmas messages based on the twelve points of the Scout Law.

This year, the Christmas messages will focus on the lives of historical figures and times when they exemplified a point of the Scout Law.

We invite you to share these daily messages as special Christmas Scoutmaster minutes, campfire devotionals, or in weekly meetings. Perhaps a special Scouter in your life would appreciate a nice Christmas message from a friend.

For Scouts who celebrate other winter holidays, check back on the Voice of Scouting for Scouting messages on those celebrated days.

Read last year’s 2015 Twelve Days of a Scout Christmas:

A Scout is Trustworthy—12 Days of Scout Christmas

A Scout is Loyal —12 Days of Scout Christmas

A Scout is Helpful—12 Days of Scout Christmas

A Scout is Friendly — 12 Days of Scout Christmas

A Scout is Courteous —12 Days of Scout Christmas

A Scout is Kind—12 Days of Scout Christmas

A Scout is Obedient —12 Days of Scout Christmas

A Scout is Cheerful — 12 Days of Scout Christmas

A Scout is Thrifty — 12 Days of Scout Christmas

A Scout is Brave—12 Days of Scout Christmas

A Scout is Clean —12 Days of Scout Christmas

A Scout is Reverent—12 Days of Scout Christmas

We hope you will join us in celebrating and sharing the 12 Days of a Scout Christmas you read. Then together, we, as Scouts (and all of us), can give the gift of being physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight.

The 12 days of Christmas are not a countdown to Christmas. They are the 12 days from Christmas to Epiphany, when the wise men arrived. Nothing wrong with counting down, just don’t call it the 12 days of Christmas.

Thank you for pointing that out. You’re right– the days are actually after Christmas. We decided to countdown to Christmas because we are doing a 12 day writing project from Christmas on our other Scouting blog: http://blog.utahscouts.org/.
